Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR)

We have extensive experience in providing SPR services.

Understanding how well a drug binds to its target is an essential part of drug discovery. Affinity determination is used in a range of activities from screening antibodies from discovery programs to characterizing your lead molecules. Affinity is also a key readout in monitoring antibody performance as part of, for example, stability studies or following ADC conjugation experiments.

Abzena hosts a suite of Biacore™ instrumentation for label free surface plasmon resonance (SPR) analysis to help you determine your antibody affinity (KD) and, where applicable, individual rate constants (kon and koff) allowing a deep understanding of how your molecules are behaving.

Alternatively, Abzena also offers a range of services using Biolayer Interferometry (BLI) on the Octet system.

As part of our suite of effector function assays we can provide a Biacore™ binding assessment against a full panel of human Fcγ receptors (FcγRI, IIA, IIB, IIIA and IIIB including polymorphic variants) with the option of also including mouse and cynomolgus monkey receptors.

We can also assess antibody recycling, a key determinant in antibody half-life, through pH dependent Biacore™ binding experiments against FcRn.

At a glance, Biacore™ offers the following advantages:

  • High sensitivity
  • High specificity
  • Rapid detection
  • Label-free analysis
  • Real-time quantitative monitoring
  • Customized service
