Site Head and Vice President, Cambridge Operations

Nicole Wakes is Abzena’s Cambridge Site Head and VP who leads a talented team of scientists across a diverse range of expertise and capabilities to support drug discovery, design, developability, and cell line development.

Nicole has been with Abzena for over 12 years. Prior to Cambridge Site Head, Nicole was VP of Scientific Operations and Senior Director of Cell Line Development, driving excellence across the stable cell line services that we deliver for our customers.

Before joining Abzena, Nicole was an integral part of the research initiatives at Argenta Discovery. Preceding this engagement, she devoted almost 16 years to GSK, refining her expertise as a Principal Scientist, where she made significant inroads in drug discovery and developmental processes.

Nicole works on key initiatives in scientific operations at Cambridge and in collaboration with our other facilities, contributing to the advancement of our mission to move medicine forward and reinforce Abzena’s position as a key organization for companies wishing to partner with a leading Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) and Contract Research Organization (CRO).
