Dr. Kamal Egodage

Scientific Advisory Board Member

Dr. Kamal Egodage serves as the President of Lasanth® Consulting. In this capacity, he provides expert consultation and execution in biologics full Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls (CMC) development, regulatory strategy, and interactions with health authorities, spanning from discovery through commercialization. His expertise also includes technical due diligence. Furthermore, Dr. Egodage supports business development, corporate strategy, and fundraising initiatives for biotech start-up companies.

Prior to establishing his consultancy in 2017, Dr. Egodage accumulated over two decades of experience at Novartis (Switzerland), Eli Lilly, Pharmacia, Monsanto, and Symic Bio in the United States. Throughout his career, he has contributed to the development, clinical trials, commercialization, and post-marketing lifecycle management of more than 100 products. He possesses considerable executive experience in establishing and managing all functional aspects of CMC development, including cGMP manufacturing. Notably, he held the position of Head of Strategy and Business Development at Novartis Biologics.

Dr. Egodage currently serves as a scientific advisory board member of Cairn Therapeutics and holds the position of Adjunct Professor at the Jefferson Institute for Bioprocessing at Thomas Jefferson University. His academic credentials include a PhD (Hons) from the University of Kansas and a drug delivery post-doctoral fellowship at the Center for Drug Delivery Research at the Higuchi Bioscience Center. He also holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management (USA) and WHU (Germany), as well as a BSc (Hons) from the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka.
