Head of Marketing

Role purpose is to market the group’s services and technologies. The role is a leadership role reporting into the Chief Commercial Officer.   • Identify, evaluate and implement marketing strategies that promote growth, profitability and sustainability of Abzena’s global discovery, development and manufacturing business
  • Lead marketing communication, conference planning, promotional marketing strategies and activities that improves upon the corporate branding and supports increased revenue and market share growth
  • Develop and execute the company’s marketing strategy, addressing critical issues in the marketing and communications of the business. The plan will set out objectives for each strategic area and outlines plans for achieving those objectives
  • Develop and recommend an annual plan for marketing and communications that sets out objectives, plans and specific activities to be pursued. This plan will be developed in the context of Abzena’s strategic and operating plans and will be directed at supporting the objectives established in those plans
  • Make presentations to the Executive Team on marketing and communications strategies and activities


  • To work closely with scientific team leaders, Heads of Department and business development to generate scientifically accurate and comprehensive strategies and process for marketing to increase inbound leads and support business development teams
  • To develop webinars and other avenues to increase exposure for Abzena scientists for presentations at conferences
  • To work closely with the corporate team to ensure marketing materials accurately reflect the corporate message of the company and that materials are regulatory and factually compliant
  • To work closely with team leaders, Heads of Department and directors of scientific affairs to launch new technologies and services and generate appropriate marketing and supporting materials

Academic requirements

  • Science, business or marketing degree

Professional and Technical Expertise

  • Significant experience of marketing, gained in pharmaceutical/biotech industry
  • Experienced in managing internal and external relationships to support the successful development of a global marketing strategy
  • Good knowledge of relevant scientific areas
  • Experience of managing CRM systems (eg Salesforce)
