Chemistry Facilities

Abzena chemistry facilities currently occupies more than 25,000 sq. ft. of newly renovated, energy-efficient, and environmentally friendly laboratory space, with room for expansion, at the Bridge Business Center in Bristol, PA. Our suite of laboratories consists of three laboratories for medicinal chemistry/custom synthesis

  • a scale-up and process development laboratory
  • a containment laboratory for highly potent compounds
  • a bioconjugation laboratory
  • a protein NMR laboratory
  • a manufacturing laboratory
  • a antibody-drug conjugate laboratory
  • an analytical laboratory

Overall, our laboratories contain 28 fume hoods, 12 walk-in hoods, 3 biological safety hoods, and a canopy hood suitable for 50L to 100L reactors.

Further bioconjugation and analytical work is carried out at our site on the Babraham Research Park in Cambridge, UK.

Abzena utilises Reaxys® and SciFinder® as the main tools for chemical structure searches and synthesis planning. These web-based chemical databases consist of excerpted compounds and their properties, reaction, and synthesis information as well as bibliographic data.
